Tusker has partnered with the UK’s leading EV charge point mapping service, Zap-Map, to provide the benefits of its electric vehicle (EV) charging point locator app to Tusker’s 20,000 drivers via its new website.

Meanwhile, Zap-Map has added a dedicated EV salary sacrifice page to its website and app in recognition of the part employee benefits are having on fast tracking the uptake of electric cars.

The Zap-Map functionality allows users to search for the nearest charging points, filter these chargers by type, power and availability, as well as plan journeys for maximum ease. It forms part of Tusker’s new website, which features a host of tools and resources for drivers.

Users of Tusker’s website and app will also be able to take advantage of Zap-Map’s handy fuel-versus-electricity cost calculator. This allows drivers to input vehicle types and mileages to discover the savings available to EVs when compared to petrol or diesel engine cars.

Paul Gilshan, CEO of Tusker, commented:

“Our partnership with Zap-Map offers great benefits to our drivers, as Zap-Map’s advanced charger mapping removes yet another worry for those new to electric vehicles. Although our research has shown the majority of drivers do not need to charge their vehicles more than once a week, with Zap-Map, finding chargers while out and about or planning longer journeys is now a much easier task.

“With the addition of the salary sacrifice page to the Zap-Map website, those who may be new to EVs or considering their first electric car can learn about the enormous cost benefits of taking one through their employer.”

Melanie Shufflebotham, COO & Co-founder of Zap-Map, said:

“The salary sacrifice scheme is a cost effective and tax efficient way for people to go electric and we are very pleased to be partnering with Tusker, a market leading provider in this area, as they promote their scheme to existing and new business customers.

“Tusker customers can benefit from our comprehensive and up-to-date information on the UK charging network, ensuring a smooth experience for drivers needing to search, plan and pay for their journeys. Each new partnership supports our goal of accelerating the shift to zero carbon mobility.”
