Ola Electric today launched the much anticipated Ola S1 Air to the Indian market priced at Rs 79,999. Customers interested to get their hands on the electric scooter can book it online by paying Rs 999.

The Ola S1 Air is now the most affordable electric scooter in Ola electric lineup. The S1 Air is the lighter version of the S1 and will attract Petrol scooter buyers.

Talking about the design of the new S1 Air, the scooter looks identical to the previous generation except for minute changes and a new dual-tone body colour option.

The new S1 Air will get Steel wheels as opposed to the alloy units seen on the S1 and S1 Pro and the S1 Air will also get a conventional telescopic fork instead of the single-sided fork on the S1 and S1 Pro models. The S1 Air also misses out on disc brakes and gets drum brakes.

Now let’s talk about the important part, Battery, range and speed. The new Ola S1 lite will be powered by a hub motor rated at 4.5 kW and is paired with a 2.5 kWh battery pack. Ola claims that the S1 Air can do 101 km on one full charge and has a top speed of 90 kmph.

Talking about the features, the S1 Air will get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with a 2.2 GHz 8-core processor, 3 GB of inbuilt ram, a companion app, music playback, navigation, vacation mode, multiple moods and profiles.

The S1 Air also features Eco, Normal and Sports mode and Ola claims that it can sprint from 0-60 in 9.3 seconds. Talking about charging, the electric scooter can be charged from 0-100 % in 4.5 hours via a home charger.

The deliveries of the new S1 Air are likely to commence in April 2023. Ola S1 Air will compete with similar offerings from Hero Electric, Okinawa and Ampere.
