The Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy has started test drive registrations of its ONE electric scooter in the Indian market. The company states that it has received 20,000 test ride registrations in just 24 hours.

Simple Energy will conduct the test rides in around 13 cities across the country. The test rides will begin primarily in Bengaluru on 20th July 2022 and later be followed by Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Panaji and other cities. One can book a test ride slot through the Simple Energy’ official website. Moreover, the company states that the test rides across other cities will be announced in the coming months.

The Simple One electric scooter deliveries will begin soon after the test rides. The standard variant of the Simple One e-scooter is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom), while the top-spec variant is priced at Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom). Simple claims that the standard variant offers a 203 km range and the top variant offers a range of 300 km with an additional battery pack. The electric scooter pre-bookings can be done at a token price of Rs 1,947 on the official website.

Witnessing the recent fire incidents in the EVs and considering the safety standards, Simple Energy had taken a conscious call of deferring the deliveries of the ONE, the company said.

“We are ecstatic to see the overwhelming response received on the test rides registrations for our flagship scooter Simple ONE. Customers and enthusiasts will #BeTheFirst to experience the vehicle that will redefine electric mobility. We also look forward to conducting the test rides in more cities as we are receiving interests from across the country,” says Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO of Simple Energy.
