Eicher Motorcycles July wholesale sales up 26% YoY

New Delhi: Indian multinational automotive company Eicher Motorcycles on Monday reported a total sales rise of 26% year-on-year to 55,555 units as compared to 44,038 units sold in the same month in the previous year.

The sales of models with sub-350cc engine capacity rise 23% YoY to 46,336 units as compared to 37,556 units sold in July 2021.

Meanwhile, the sales of models with engine capacity exceeding 350cc rise 42% YoY to 9,219 units as compared to 6,482 units in July 2021.

According to a company regulatory filing, its exports stood at 9,026 units in July 2022.

Signaling a steady sequential growth, the company sold 18,35,773 units of two-wheelers so far (April-July) in FY23. This is a double-digit growth of 24.1% over the corresponding period of FY22 when the company sold 14,78,905 units.

Of the total sales, 60,892 motorcycles were sold in the domestic market while the remaining 15,338 units were exported, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) said in a statement.

According to a regulatory filing, a total of two-wheelers registered a growth of 14% in July 2022 with sales increasing from 262,728 units in July 2021 to 299,658 units in July 2022.
