Ola Electric has announced a hike in the price of its flagship e-scooter, the S1 Pro.

The S1 Pro now comes in at Rs 1,20,149 (ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME-II and state subsidies)/ Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom), and is Rs 10,000 costlier than before.

The price for the Ola S1 remains unchanged at Rs 85,099 (ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME-II and state subsidies) / Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom).

Ola opened the latest purchase window for its electric scooters S1, S1Pro on May 21.

The price hike doesn’t come as a surprise. Ola had announced the move back in March.

Last month, Ola Electric recalled 1,441 units of its electric two-wheelers in the wake of incidents of vehicles catching fire.

There may be more fires in electric scooters in the future but such incidents are very rare, the chief executive of India’s Ola Electric Bhavish Aggarwal said at a private company event, after safety concerns were heightened by a fire in one of its scooters in March.

Ola opened its last purchase window between March 17 and 18 this year, and had announced then that it would be hiking prices next time around.
